Day 1: Nairobi – Mount Longonot National Park

Summer break vacations tours and Safari’s driver and Staff will pick up the clients on arrival in the airport or hotel in the morning, a short safari briefing will be conducted then the clients depart Nairobi by road heading through the view point of the great rift valley escarpment, a stopover at the great rift valley escapement for the photo and shopping then continue with the safari to Mount Longonot National park. Longonot National park is a savannah ecosystem that lies about 90km from Nairobi city. The Longonot Park mainly comprises of the mountain rising to 2,776m above sea level. On the sides of the mountain are V-shaped valleys and ridges with little vegetation, however a thick forest occurs within the crater. Major wildlife attractions include buffaloes, elands, bush bucks, common zebra, giraffe, grant gazelles, Thomson gazelles and many other antelopes. Other attractions include the extinct volcano and the crater forest, the great views of Lake Naivasha and the Great Rift Valley. Mount Longonot National Park covers 52 square kilometers of savannah grassland. The park features the dramatic scenery of the extinct Mount Longonot volcano and protected crater forest. Mount Longonot National park is a major tourist attraction, used primarily for hiking and rock climbing, and to a lesser extent wildlife watching.
